Accident – Death – Obituary News :

The tragic collapse of a new build on the 33000 block of Willow Heights Lane in Magnolia during Tuesday’s storm has sparked a federal investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), a division of the U.S. Department of Labor.

The incident resulted in the untimely death of 16-year-old John Aaron Garcia, who was one of the construction workers on-site at the time of the collapse.

Initial reports indicate that the workers noticed the house shifting as the storm approached, prompting all but one worker to evacuate the premises before the structure ultimately collapsed.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting its own investigation into the incident and is awaiting the results of the autopsy.

As part of the federal inquiry, investigators will focus on determining whether any child labor laws were violated given Garcia’s age at the time of the tragedy. The investigation is expected to be thorough and may take several months to complete, according to our news partners.
