The young victim, identified as Karson Mayers from Belmont East Coast Demerara (ECD), was a passenger in the vehicle driven by his father, Kishawn Mayers, 30, accompanied by Monique Richmond.

Reports from the police indicate that the senior Mayers allegedly lost control of the car while attempting a right turn, leading to a collision with a truck owned by John Fernandes Limited. The truck, travelling eastbound, crossed paths with the car heading in the opposite direction, resulting in the devastating accident.

Following the crash, all occupants of the vehicle were rushed to Fort Wellington Hospital for medical attention. Tragically, Karson Mayers was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, while Monique Richmond was admitted for further observation.
