PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – A convicted criminal with multiple ongoing felony cases was apprehended once again on Wednesday in North Portland, as reported by Portland Police.

The individual discharged his firearm in a densely populated area and made an attempt to escape on foot while trying to discard the weapon he had used.

The suspect, known as Ryan Poffenberger, aged 37, was found in possession of a stolen firearm at the time of his arrest.

The firearm recovered was reported stolen back in February in Washington County.

A man has been hospitalized after he was shot by an officer who were serving a search warrant in the Russell neighborhood early Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Northeast 19th Avenue and Northeast Weidler Street at approximately 5:45 p.m.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the altercation.
