A tragic incident unfolded in south Delhi as a 22-year-old woman, identified as Pooja, was allegedly strangled to death by her husband over a dispute. The incident took place in Rajokri, sending shockwaves through the community.
Police Investigation
According to the police, the unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday when a PCR call reporting a murder was received at Vasant Kunj South police station. Responding swiftly, a police team arrived at the scene to discover the lifeless body of Pooja in the house.
Initial investigations revealed that Pooja and her husband, Abhishek, had tied the knot just a month ago. This was the second marriage for both individuals, with Abhishek having no children from his previous marriage and Pooja bringing a son into the new union. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Southwest, Rohit Meena stated that a matrimonial dispute appeared to be the motive behind the heinous crime.
Manhunt for Accused
Authorities have launched a manhunt to apprehend the husband, Abhishek, who is the prime suspect in the case. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and Crime teams have examined the crime scene, and a case is being registered under the relevant sections to facilitate a thorough investigation.
DCP Meena emphasised that multiple teams are diligently working to track down the perpetrator and bring him to justice. The community is reeling from the loss of a young life and demands swift action to ensure that such tragedies are not repeated.
