The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating a devastating crash that occurred on Wednesday in Orange County, resulting in the death of a driver who was struck by a Lynx bus. The incident took place at the intersection of N Econlockhatchee Trail and Valencia College Lane.

Details of the Accident

According to troopers, the Lynx bus was travelling southbound on N Econlockhatchee Trail, positioned in the left turn lane towards Valencia College Lane. Simultaneously, a car was heading northbound on the same road, approaching the intersection in the outside lane.

As the Lynx bus attempted to make a left turn onto Valencia College Lane to travel east, it collided with the car, resulting in a tragic accident. The impact caused the bus to veer off the roadway and crash into a concrete wall, while the car overturned and was struck by a pedestrian traffic signal.

Victims and Survivors

Tragically, the driver of the car, whose identity has not been disclosed, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The bus driver, a 59-year-old man from Orlando, survived the crash. Additionally, five passengers on the bus did not sustain any serious injuries and were not taken to the hospital.

Roadblock and Investigation

Following the collision, the northbound lanes of N Econlockhatchee Trail were blocked as authorities worked to clear the scene and conduct an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
