Accident – Death – Obituary News : A 14-year-old adolescent was apprehended on Tuesday in Glendale on suspicion of fatally shooting his father. The tragic incident took place just before 4 p.m., prompting officers to rush to a residence near 66th Avenue and Delmonico Lane. The victim, identified as 39-year-old Joshua Lee Goldman, was discovered inside the home with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being swiftly transported to the hospital, Goldman succumbed to his injuries.
In compliance with legal regulations protecting minors, the name of the suspect has not been disclosed by law enforcement officials. According to official court records, Goldman was found with a handgun holstered in the front waistband of his trousers, with no evidence suggesting it had been removed during the altercation.
Goldman’s daughter, who was present at the residence during the tragic incident and rendered aid to her father, recounted to the police that she had been engaged in a verbal dispute with her father when the suspect intervened and fired the fatal shot. She was situated on the opposite side of a closed door and did not witness the shooting, as per court documents. Additionally, Goldman’s father was present in the home at the time of the shooting but did not witness the event unfold.
Following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene on foot in the company of a friend. Surveillance footage from a Ring doorbell captured the suspect and his companion absconding in Goldman’s Toyota Camry post the incident. Detectives managed to trace the vehicle heading towards Las Vegas, with deputies from the Arizona Department of Public Safety intercepting the Camry near Kingman around 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Despite the Camry crashing during the pursuit, law enforcement officers successfully deployed a grappler device to halt the vehicle.
Upon apprehension, the suspect was found to possess a holster in his waistband and a magazine within the holster. Subsequent searches of the Camry unearthed a loaded 9mm Glock-style handgun on the passenger side floorboard of the vehicle. Goldman’s daughter, who was visiting from Nevada at the time of the tragic occurrence, suggested to the authorities that the suspect may have been attempting to shield her from their father during their altercation. Both the daughter and Goldman’s father attested to the suspect’s history of carrying firearms.
The suspect is currently facing charges of second-degree murder and illegal possession of a firearm in relation to the incident. The investigation into this tragic event is ongoing as law enforcement officials work to unravel the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting..
