Tragedy struck a family in Maharashtra as six members lost their lives in a horrific accident when their car plunged into a canal near Sangli. The incident took place in the Chinchani area around 12:30 am on Wednesday, with the Alto car falling into the Takari canal.
Victims of the Accident
The victims were identified as Rajendra Jagannath Patil (60), a civil engineer, his wife Sujata Patil (55), their daughter Priyanka Kharade (30), and their three young granddaughters – Dhruva (3), Rajivi (2), and Kartiki (1). Another daughter, Swapnali Bhosale (30), survived the accident but sustained injuries.
Investigation Ongoing
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the tragic accident. The cause of the car veering off the road and into the canal is still unknown, and officials are working to determine what happened.
Another Hit-and-Run Incident in Amravati
In a separate incident in Amravati, a 64-year-old man lost his life in a hit-and-run accident when a car collided with his bike and fled the scene. The incident, which occurred nearly 23 days ago, was captured on CCTV footage and reported on May 26.
The CCTV footage shows the victim, identified as Bhimsen, being thrown onto the road after a speeding car crashed into his two-wheeler at a crossroad. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Bhimsen succumbed to his injuries after 12 days of treatment. The driver of the car and its occupants are currently at large.
Both of these incidents serve as stark reminders of the dangers of road accidents and the devastating impact they can have on families and communities.
