Accident – Death – Obituary News : The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has issued a wanted bulletin for a 32-year-old man in connection with the brutal murder of an overseas-based Guyanese businessman in 2021. The victim, Hemraj Pardesi, also known as ‘Prem’, was tragically killed during a robbery at his residence in Reliance, East Canje Berbice.

The suspect, identified as Jason Isaacs, was last known to be at Lot 18 Bristol Street, East Canje Berbice. Following the murder, Maryo Bissoondyal was swiftly arrested after being found hiding in the waters of Canje Creek, Rose Hall Estate, East Canje. Bissoondyal confessed to being an accomplice in the crime and implicated Isaacs and a female accomplice as well.

According to reports from the police, the intention of the suspects was to rob Pardesi of money he had at his home. The female accomplice lured Pardesi out of his yard with a phone call, allowing Isaacs and Bissoondyal to attack him near his steps. They struck him on the head with a steel rod and duct-taped his neck until he lost consciousness. The suspects then ransacked the building in search of cash, with Isaacs managing to escape with a bag while Bissoondyal fled empty-handed.

Pardesi had recently returned to Guyana to carry out renovations on his property and had made substantial cash withdrawals from a commercial bank. On the night of the incident, he left his premises around 22:30hrs and was attacked shortly after. His body was found with signs of blood, and the upper flat of the building was ransacked, indicating a violent struggle.

In a separate incident, Isaacs was shot in the legs by police during his arrest in Suriname on October 13, 2023. However, he managed to escape from the Paramaribo University Hospital the following day. Isaacs was a suspect in another murder case in Suriname, where he allegedly shot a man dead during an argument near a bar. Despite efforts to apprehend him, Isaacs remains at large, with authorities urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.

The GPF is working diligently to locate and apprehend Isaacs, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police or the nearest police station. The search for justice in the murder of Hemraj Pardesi continues, with the hope that the perpetrators will be brought to account for their heinous actions..
