Accident – Death – Obituary News : The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have confirmed that the human remains discovered near Dawson Creek, British Columbia, have been identified as those of Renee Didier (Supernant), a woman who was reported missing late last year. The 40-year-old Cree woman and mother of two was found on May 18 near the Kiskatinaw River, located west of the northeastern B.C. city.

Didier was last seen on gas station surveillance footage on December 3, 2023, and was officially reported missing on December 7. Her disappearance, along with three others from Dawson Creek, a city in the Peace River region approximately 740 kilometres north of Vancouver and 20 kilometres from the Alberta border with a population of 12,000, sparked community-wide searches and raised concerns about public safety.

Among the missing individuals from Dawson Creek are Didier’s cousin, Darylyn Supernant, who was last seen on March 15, 2023. Additionally, Dave Daniel Domingo, a 24-year-old believed to have been in a rural area near Dawson Creek on August 29, and Cole Hosack, a 24-year-old from Prince George who was last seen on New Year’s Eve at the same bar Didier was spotted shortly before her disappearance, remain missing.

In a tragic turn of events, police discovered human remains on April 19 on the 219 Road near Saskatoon Creek, north of Dawson Creek. Authorities have not yet released a positive identification in that case.

Didier’s grandmother, Verna Cardinal, fondly remembered her granddaughter as a “fun-loving” mother of two in an interview with CBC News. Cardinal expressed concern that Didier had been associating with individuals involved in drugs prior to her disappearance, but noted that it was out of character for her not to make contact. She revealed that she was supposed to pick Didier up on the night she went missing, but Didier never made the call.

The family of Renee Didier has requested privacy as they mourn her loss and process the discovery of her remains. Anyone with information regarding Didier’s death or disappearance is urged to contact the Dawson Creek RCMP at 250-784-3700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477..
