Emergency services were alerted around noon on Friday about a swimmer in distress at ‘Anini Beach Park. Upon arrival, it was discovered that Kositsky had been snorkeling when his friends noticed he was missing. They promptly informed a lifeguard of the situation.
A lifeguard from the Ocean Safety Bureau swiftly located Kositsky and brought him ashore. Despite efforts to revive him with CPR, Kositsky remained unresponsive. He was quickly transported to the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital, where he was tragically pronounced dead.
