David Soulner : “East County Murder-Suicide: Married Couple Identified”

In a tragic incident over Memorial Day weekend, an elderly couple was discovered dead in a murder-suicide at their home in Santee, a city located in San Diego’s East County.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call on Sunday morning and found the bodies of 82-year-old David Soulner and his 79-year-old wife, Claire Soulner, at their residence on Lantern Way.

Following autopsies conducted on the couple, authorities confirmed that both individuals died from gunshot wounds. Claire’s death was ruled a homicide, while David’s death was determined to be a suicide.

Lieutenant Michael Krugh of the sheriff’s department stated that David Soulner was the sole suspect in the tragic incident, and investigations into the motive behind the crime are ongoing.
