Angad Giri : “28-Year-Old Man Killed by Car in Pune, Arrest Made”

A tragic incident unfolded in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, as a 28-year-old man lost his life after being struck by a speeding vehicle. The incident occurred in the early hours of May 27 on a service road adjacent to the Pune-Bangalore highway in the Wakad area of Pimpri Chinchwad.

Angad Giri, the victim, was crossing the road when he was hit by the car, resulting in his immediate demise. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras, providing crucial evidence for the police investigation.

According to a statement released by the Pimpri Chinchwad Police, the driver of the vehicle, identified as 20-year-old Vedant Rai, was apprehended following the incident. A case has been registered against Rai at the Hinjewadi Police station under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicle Act.

The swift action taken by the authorities led to the arrest of the accused on May 28, bringing a sense of justice to the grieving family of Angad Giri.

Notably, this tragic incident comes in the wake of another fatal accident involving a luxury car in Pune, where two IT professionals lost their lives after being hit by a minor driving a Porsche. The victims, Ashwini Koshta and Aneesh Awadhia, were tragically killed in the collision on the night of May 19.
