ATLANTA — The Atlanta Police Department has issued a Be On the Lookout (BOLO) alert on behalf of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department for a man wanted in connection to a murder case.

On March 14, IMPD officers responded to Methodist Hospital on Senate Avenue regarding a shooting incident. The victim, identified as Candace Powell, was found shot and despite efforts by paramedics, she succumbed to her injuries.

IMPD investigators determined that the shooting took place on Prospect Street, and Powell was brought to the hospital in her vehicle after the incident.

Deandre Rogers, aged 34, has been identified by detectives as a potential suspect in the case. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO) has issued a warrant for Rogers’ arrest on charges of murder, unlawful possession of a firearm by a domestic batterer, and unlawful carrying of a handgun with a prior felony conviction within the last 15 years.

Seeking Information on Suspect’s Whereabouts

IMPD detectives are urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of Deandre Rogers to contact 911 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477. Rogers is known to have connections in the Houston, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia areas, though authorities have not disclosed how he may have arrived in Atlanta.

Authorities have cautioned the public that Deandre Rogers should be considered armed and dangerous. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest, and tipsters can choose to remain anonymous.
