Aaron Christopher Downing, aged 28, was taken into custody in connection with the incident. The authorities were prompted to act upon receiving reports of an assault at the aforementioned location.
The victim, who had already been transported to a medical facility for treatment, was found to have suffered injuries as a result of the altercation, according to MPD.
The altercation is said to have ensued following a heated argument between the victim and Downing, who is known to the victim. The altercation escalated into a physical confrontation, leading to the victim sustaining injuries.
Downing has since been remanded to Mobile Metro Jail and now faces charges of second-degree assault. A bond hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday to determine the course of action in this case.
