Accident – Death – Obituary News : A mother from Massachusetts has come forward to share her harrowing experience after her three children and their friend were viciously attacked by a man at a local movie theater over the weekend. Lisa Dembowski’s daughters and their companion were stabbed by an assailant at the AMC Braintree 10 cinema around 6 p.m. on Saturday.
In an interview with NBC Boston, Dembowski, who works as a high school guidance counselor, opened up about the profound impact the incident has had on her children. She expressed concern for her daughters, particularly the eldest one who is protective of her siblings and anxious about their well-being in the aftermath of the terrifying attack. Dembowski condemned the perpetrator’s actions, describing them as the act of a “sick individual” for targeting innocent children.
According to Braintree police, the man entered the movie theater, bypassed the ticket counter, and entered one of the screening rooms where he encountered the four young girls, aged between 9 and 17. Without any warning or provocation, the man launched a sudden and unprovoked attack on the girls, stabbing them before fleeing the scene.
Dembowski recounted that her children were watching a movie when the assailant struck. Her eldest daughter was reaching for something when the suspect attacked her from behind, subsequently injuring her other daughters and their friend. The man callously laughed throughout the assault before making his escape.
The suspect was later identified as 26-year-old Jared Ravizza from Chilmark on Martha’s Vineyard. Following the incident, Ravizza fled the theater and drove away in a vehicle. The injured girls were promptly transported to hospitals in Boston, where they received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
In response to the incident, an AMC spokesperson expressed sadness over the act of violence and assured that the victims were recovering. The theater chain pledged to enhance its security measures in light of the attack, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the safety of patrons.
Ravizza has been linked to multiple incidents, including another stabbing at a McDonald’s in Plymouth, located approximately 27 miles from Braintree. In that separate attack, two individuals, a 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were hospitalized. Surveillance footage captured Ravizza reaching through the drive-thru window to stab the male victim before entering the restaurant and attacking the female employee.
Following a police pursuit, Ravizza’s vehicle crashed in Sandwich, leading to his apprehension and subsequent hospitalization. Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz confirmed that Ravizza would face multiple charges, including assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, related to the Plymouth attack. Additionally, Ravizza is reportedly linked to a homicide investigation involving the death of a 70-year-old man in Deep River, Connecticut.
Authorities found personal belongings belonging to Ravizza at the scene of the deceased man’s home, further implicating him in the tragic events. The suspect is expected to be arraigned in court to face the charges brought against him in connection with the string of violent incidents..
