Accident – Death – Obituary News :

In a disturbing incident that has shaken the community in Guna, a man from the Banjara community was abducted by his own relatives, subjected to humiliating torture, and paraded through the village in women’s attire. The victim, identified as Mahendra Singh, was also forced to drink urine and wear a garland of shoes while his face was blackened.

The shocking incident, which has been captured on video and is now circulating on social media, is said to have originated from an old family dispute. Mahendra Singh, who tried to report the incident to the police, faced initial reluctance from authorities to register his complaint. It was only after the intervention of the Superintendent of Police (SP) that an FIR was eventually lodged at the Fatehgarh police station.

Reports suggest that Mahendra Singh was working in the fields when a group of over a dozen people arrived and forcibly took him away in a jeep. He was then subjected to physical assault, made to wear the garland of shoes, and coerced into drinking urine. The perpetrators then demanded a ransom of ₹25 lakh from his father, Phool Singh, for his release.

When Phool Singh approached the police for help, he was reportedly met with demands for money instead of immediate action. Authorities allegedly pressured him to pay ₹20 lakh within three days, following which Mahendra was released on May 25. Frustrated by the lack of justice, the victim’s family is now considering seeking legal recourse through the High Court.

The individuals accused of assaulting Mahendra Singh have been identified as Sodan Singh, Guman Singh, Omkar Singh, Badhan Banjara, Chhotu Banjara, Ramesh Banjara, Tofan Banjara, Prem Banjara, Genda Singh, Kaluram, Gulab, and Mathri Bai. Mahendra Singh, feeling helpless and without recourse, has expressed thoughts of suicide if no action is taken against his tormentors.

According to Mahendra’s family, the root cause of the incident lies in a family dispute involving his uncle’s daughter, who was married to Ramesh Banjara. However, the marriage fell apart when Ramesh chose another woman, leading to the daughter’s departure. In retaliation, family members of Ramesh allegedly kidnapped and tortured Mahendra as a form of retribution.

Speaking on the matter, Guna SP Sanjeev Singh confirmed the case and assured that strict action would be taken against the perpetrators. Despite the physical assault occurring in Rajasthan, the initial abduction of Mahendra Singh falls under the jurisdiction of Guna, warranting investigation and accountability.
