Accident – Death – Obituary News : The primary suspect in the tragic Rajkot TRP game zone fire incident has been apprehended by the Rajkot police and Banaskantha Local Crime Branch authorities in Rajasthan. The main accused, identified as Dhaval Thakkar, hails from Abu Road, Rajasthan. After the devastating incident that resulted in the loss of 28 lives, Thakkar had fled the scene and had been evading capture until now.

Previously, three individuals were taken into custody in connection with the game zone fire and were subsequently placed in a 14-day police custody by a court in the Rajkot district on Monday.

Additional judicial magistrate BP Thakar sanctioned the two-week police custody for the trio of suspects – Yuvraj Hari Singh Solanki, Nitin Jain, and Rahul Rathod, as confirmed by special public prosecutor Tushar Gokani. Gokani stated, “Today the accused were presented before the honourable court, and an extension of police custody for 14 days was requested. Out of the six accused named in the FIR, three were arrested, with two being mentioned in the FIR and one not.” The rationale behind the custody extension was the lack of cooperation from the suspects during the investigation, with their evasive responses hindering progress.

“We informed the court that the main accused are still at large, and these arrested individuals are not forthcoming with information and are impeding the investigative process,” Gokani elaborated. The prime accused, Solanki, purportedly attempted to feign remorse in front of the court, only to exhibit erratic behavior shortly after. Gokani recounted, “When he entered the court, he tried to project that he had remorse for the incident and everyone felt that he was crying. After five minutes, he was laughing and arguing with the court.”

Thakkar, upon entering the courtroom, initially appeared teary-eyed, but swiftly transitioned to a callous attitude, remarking, “these kinds of things happen.” This flippant response was not taken lightly by the court, as it underscored the gravity of the situation.

In a parallel development, the Gujarat government took action by suspending seven officials, including two police inspectors and Rajkot Municipal Corporation personnel, for negligence in their duties related to the fire incident at the gaming zone in Rajkot.
