The Washington Commanders announced on Monday that they are currently looking into a lawsuit that was filed against their kicker, Brandon McManus, in civil court last week.

A spokesperson for the team confirmed that they have been made aware of the lawsuit and have already been in contact with McManus’ agent and the NFL office to gather more information on the matter. According to reports from ESPN, two women have filed a lawsuit against McManus, accusing him of sexually assaulting them during a charter flight to London last year when he was playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

“We take allegations of this nature very seriously,” the spokesperson stated in a message to The Associated Press.

Based on court documents that have not yet been publicly available on Duval County’s records database, the women, identified as Jane Doe I and Jane Doe II, claim that McManus engaged in inappropriate behavior by rubbing and grinding against them during the flight. They also allege that the Jaguars failed to supervise McManus and create a safe environment for the team staff. The women are seeking more than $1 million in damages and have requested a jury trial, according to ESPN.
