Accident – Death – Obituary News :
A devastating one-vehicle accident took the life of a 58-year-old woman on Friday night in Adams County. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. in the 1500 block of State 13 in the town of Preston. According to a news release from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, the initial report to dispatch indicated that a vehicle had veered off the road, crashed into some trees, and was emitting smoke. The driver, later identified as Jenny L. Kern of Adams, was unresponsive and trapped inside the vehicle.
Initial investigations suggest that the vehicle was travelling southbound when it departed from the road on a curve. It then crossed into the northbound lane before colliding with the east ditch. The vehicle continued for a short distance before hitting a cluster of large trees. Despite efforts to extricate the driver, Jenny Kern was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. The authorities were assisted by Lifestar EMS, the Adams County Fire District, the Adams County Medical Examiner’s Office, and Murray’s Towing.
