Deputies in Louisiana are currently on the lookout for four inmates who managed to escape from the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on Sunday evening. Sheriff Daniel Edwards confirmed that the escape occurred during recreation time in the jail yard when the inmates breached the perimeter fence.

The fugitives have been identified as Omarion Hookfin, aged 19; Avery Guidry, aged 19; Jamarcus Cyprian, aged 20; and Travon Johnson, aged 21.

Escape Route

Following an inspection of the perimeter fence, authorities discovered a section that was deemed vulnerable and easily navigable for a person to slip through, as reported by the sheriff’s office.

Johnson, Hookfin, and Guidry were incarcerated in relation to a 2022 homicide case in Hammond, Louisiana, while Cyprian was serving time for charges related to armed robbery and weapons possession.

It is worth noting that Hookfin also faced charges of aggravated battery during his time at the Catahoula Parish.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the escaped inmates to immediately contact 911. The search for the fugitives is ongoing.
