Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Authorities in Louisiana are on the hunt for four inmates who managed to escape from the Tangipahoa Parish Jail, located just north of New Orleans. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office has revealed that three of the escaped inmates are homicide suspects, making the situation even more urgent.

Sheriff Daniel Edwards issued a statement confirming that the inmates made their escape during recreation time in the jail yard. It was discovered that a section of the perimeter fence had a vulnerability that allowed for a small-bodied individual to slide through, facilitating the escape.

The three homicide suspects have been identified as Omarion Hookfin, aged 19 and hailing from Hammond, Louisiana; Avery Guidry, also 19, from Natalbany, Louisiana; and Travon Johnson, 21, also from Natalbany. The fourth escapee is Jamarcus Cyprian, aged 20 and from Amity, Louisiana.

According to the sheriff’s office, Hookfin, Guidry, and Johnson were incarcerated for their alleged involvement in a homicide case that took place in Hammond in 2022. On the other hand, Cyprian was serving time for armed robbery and weapons charges, with additional charges of aggravated battery from his time in Catahoula Parish.

CBS New Orleans affiliate WWL-TV reported that the charges against Johnson, Hookfin, and Guidry stemmed from a home invasion incident in Hammond in 2022. The incident resulted in the death of a 33-year-old man and the hospitalization of his 12-year-old daughter.
