Loss of Life and Property
The destructive force of Cyclone Remal claimed the lives of two individuals in West Bengal. One victim, Md Sajid, aged 50, tragically lost his life when a concrete slab fell on him in Kolkata’s Entally area. Another victim, an 80-year-old woman named Renuka Mondal, was killed in Frazerganj in South 24 Parganas district when an uprooted tree fell on her.
Extent of Damage
The impact of the cyclone was felt most strongly in areas such as Sagar Island, Diamond Harbour, Jharkhali, Hingalganj, and Sandeshkhali. Reports of widespread destruction poured in from these locations, highlighting the severity of the damage caused by Cyclone Remal.

Efforts are underway to provide assistance to those affected by the cyclone. In North 24 Parganas district, where no fatalities were reported, around 30,000 individuals were evacuated to safety.
