Belle Mallesh : “Telangana Rain Tragedy: 12 Dead”

HYDERABAD: The state of Telangana witnessed a tragic day as twelve individuals lost their lives due to severe weather conditions on Sunday. Gusty winds and heavy rain wreaked havoc in several districts, causing widespread devastation.

Tragedy Strikes in Tandur

One of the most heartbreaking incidents took place in Tandur, Nagarkurnool district, where four individuals, including a 10-year-old girl, lost their lives when the compound wall of an under-construction dairy farm collapsed on them. The victims were identified as farm owner Belle Mallesh (38), his daughter Anusha (10), and two workers, S Ramulu (35) and his wife Chennamma (34). Four others sustained injuries in the tragic incident.

The injured, including Mallesh’s wife Parvathamma and workers Raju, Chinna Nagulu, and Kumuraiah, were rushed to hospitals for treatment. Unfortunately, Chinna Nagulu’s condition was critical, necessitating his transfer to a hospital in Hyderabad, while the remaining three were admitted to the Nagarkurnool government hospital.

Loss of Life in Hafeezpet

In Sai Nagar of Hafeezpet, Hyderabad, a three-year-old boy and a 45-year-old man lost their lives following a drizzle in the area. The young boy tragically perished when the roof of a neighbouring house’s balcony collapsed on him as he slept in his home. In a separate incident in the same locality, a man named Rashid (45) sustained severe injuries after being struck by falling bricks while walking. Despite being rushed to a private hospital, Rashid succumbed to his injuries.

Lightning Strikes

Further tragedies unfolded in Telakapalli mandal and Nukalachinta tanda in Nagarkurnool district. A 12-year-old boy, Dandu Lakshman, lost his life due to a lightning strike, while Jaipal Naik sustained injuries in the same area.

The devastating impact of the severe weather conditions has left communities in mourning and serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of nature.
