A tragic incident occurred on Sunday in Osceola County, Florida, as a 59-year-old bicyclist was struck by a vehicle and later succumbed to his injuries, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash took place on Florence Villa Grove Road near Westside Boulevard at approximately 8:51 a.m., according to the crash report.

The report states that a Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 24-year-old man from South Carolina, was travelling east on Florence Villa Grove Road alongside the bicyclist towards Westside Boulevard.

Tragically, the driver of the Malibu failed to maintain his lane, resulting in the front of the vehicle colliding with the back of the bicycle.

The bicyclist, identified as a man from West Palm Beach, was rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Fortunately, the driver of the Malibu and his two passengers remained unharmed and cooperated with authorities at the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
