The victim, identified as 33-year-old Kadie L. Price from Pierson, was enjoying a day out with her family, spectating the races at the sand dunes. Tragically, their peaceful outing took a horrific turn when a Jeep CJ, participating in the races, lost control and collided with the family’s vehicle.
In a selfless act of bravery, Price managed to push her 2-year-old daughter out of harm’s way just before being struck by the out-of-control vehicle. Despite the heroic efforts of bystanders and emergency responders to save her, Price succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Deputies investigating the incident remarked that Price’s quick actions likely saved her daughter from sustaining serious injuries or worse. The tragic loss of Price has left her family, friends, and the local community in deep mourning.
