The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office has apprehended a suspect in connection with a reported burglary at a residence in Mesa Park Road. The incident took place on Wednesday, May 22, when deputies responded to a call from a homeowner.
Upon arriving at the scene, the homeowner informed the deputies that they had discovered an unfamiliar man inside their home. The homeowner confronted the intruder, who then fled through the back door. The suspect was later identified as 32-year-old William Signer III.
Following a search of the area, deputies located Signer in a nearby neighbourhood. He was subsequently taken into custody and booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility. Signer is now facing charges of residential burglary (second offense) and possession of stolen property.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident to determine if Signer may be connected to any other criminal activities in the area. The Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to law enforcement.
