A man has been arrested following two separate stabbing incidents in Braintree and Plymouth, Massachusetts on Saturday.
The Braintree Police Department reported that the first incident occurred at the AMC Braintree 10 movie theater around 6 p.m. According to authorities, the suspect entered the theater without paying and proceeded to stab four young girls without warning. The victims, aged between 9 and 17, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
After the attack, the suspect fled the scene in a Black SUV. Police were able to track his movements through surveillance footage and eventually located the vehicle.
In a separate incident, two individuals were stabbed at a McDonald’s in Plymouth an hour later. The victims, a 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, also sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Massachusetts State Police pursued the suspect’s SUV, which eventually crashed in Sandwich. The driver was apprehended and taken into custody.
Authorities have been informed by Connecticut State Police that the suspect may be connected to a death investigation in their state. The incident in Connecticut occurred on the same day as the stabbings in Massachusetts.
The identity of the suspect has not been disclosed at this time. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
