TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. – A man was taken into custody by Susanville Police in Lassen County following an early morning kidnapping that occurred in Red Bluff on Saturday morning.
The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a kidnapping at around 2:28 a.m. Deputies responded to a residence in the unincorporated area of Red Bluff where it was reported that 39-year-old Jonathan Bradley Sr. had taken his seven-year-old biological son, Jonathan Bradley Jr., through a bedroom window.
Despite conducting a thorough search of the area, deputies were unable to locate Bradley Sr. or his vehicle, a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The Tehama County Major Crimes Task Force and the Tehama County District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigation were called to the scene to investigate.
Following their investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Bradley Sr. on the charge of kidnapping. The California Highway Patrol was then contacted to issue an Amber Alert for the abducted juvenile.
Search Leads to Susanville
Authorities identified a location in Susanville as a possible destination for Bradley Sr. and the juvenile. The Susanville Police Department was contacted, and officers were asked to check the area for the suspect and the child.
An officer from the Susanville Police Department located Bradley Sr. and the juvenile at the Walmart on Main Street after receiving a tip about their presence in the area.
Suspect in Custody
Bradley Sr. was apprehended on the kidnapping warrant, and the juvenile was taken into protective custody. The child was later returned to Tehama County to be reunited with their legal guardian.
