Shillong, 26th May: The capital city of India, Delhi, was struck by a devastating tragedy as a massive fire engulfed Baby Care NewBorn Hospital, leading to the tragic death of seven innocent children. The incident, which occurred late on Saturday, has left the community in shock and mourning.

The Delhi Police swiftly took action and arrested the hospital owner, identified as Naveen Kichi, a resident of Bhairon Enclave, Paschim Vihar. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Surendra Chaudhary provided details of the horrifying incident, stating that a PCR call reporting the fire was received at Vivek Vihar police station around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Upon reaching the scene, the police found the hospital and its adjacent building engulfed in flames. Despite the challenging circumstances, all 12 newborn babies who were admitted to the hospital were rescued and transferred to East Delhi Advance NICU Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

The Delhi Fire Service, under the leadership of Chief Atul Garg, worked tirelessly to extinguish the fire and prevent further loss of life. Tragically, seven children lost their lives in the incident, while five newborn babies are currently receiving medical care.

DCP Chaudhary revealed that the deceased children have been moved to GTB Hospital for postmortem examinations, as investigations into the cause of the fire continue. The entire community is reeling from the shock of this tragedy, and our hearts go out to the families of the victims during this difficult time.
