Upon receiving the distress call, five fire tenders rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, 14 vehicles and two bicycles were completely destroyed by the flames.

This tragic incident marks the second major fire outbreak in Delhi within a short span of time. Just a day earlier, a heartbreaking incident occurred at a children’s hospital in east Delhi’s Vivek Vihar, where seven newborns lost their lives in a massive fire.

Simultaneously, another fire incident was reported in the vicinity of Krishna Nagar police station on the same day.

Atul Garg, the Chief of Delhi Fire Services, revealed that they received a call regarding a blaze near the Bank of India in Krishna Nagar at 2.35 am. “The fire was extinguished by 7.20 am, and it was determined that it originated in 11 two-wheelers in the stilt parking area before spreading to the first floor of the building,” he stated.

The upper floors of the building suffered from heat and smoke damage, with one body found on the first floor.

Police officials, along with firefighters, successfully rescued several individuals from different floors of the building. Sadly, two individuals succumbed to their injuries at GTB Hospital, while one person in critical condition was transferred to Max Hospital for further treatment.

The owner of the building in Krishna Nagar has been booked by the police under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including sections 285, 304A, 337, and 427. An investigation is currently underway, with post-mortem examinations being conducted on the deceased individuals.
