PHOENIX — In a recent development, detectives have apprehended a pair of siblings in relation to a homicide that occurred last month in west Phoenix, as confirmed by authorities on Saturday.
The investigation that led to the arrest of the two brothers commenced following the discovery of a deceased individual inside a vehicle engulfed in flames in a canal. The incident sparked a chain of events that ultimately led to the apprehension of the suspects.
Jose Lomeli, aged 40, has been taken into custody and is facing charges of second-degree murder. His younger brother, Roberto Lomeli, aged 35, has also been arrested and is facing charges related to the felony crimes associated with the case, as stated by the police.
The sequence of events began on April 1 when law enforcement officers were summoned to the vicinity near 55th Avenue and Osborn Road prior to 7 a.m. in response to reports of arson. Phoenix Fire personnel swiftly extinguished the blaze, allowing for the retrieval of the vehicle from the canal with the deceased individual later identified as 26-year-old Jose De Jesus Loeza inside.
As the investigation unfolds, the authorities are urging anyone with relevant information or leads on the case to come forward and assist in bringing justice to the victim and closure to the grieving family.
