An officer from Putnam Valley, Juliana Torsiello, tragically lost her life in a fatal crash in Campbell Hall, Orange County on Friday evening, according to state police officials.
Juliana Torsiello, aged 25, had been serving with the NYPD for two years before the unfortunate incident.
State police reports indicate that Torsiello was travelling along County Road 51 in Campbell Hall when she lost control of her vehicle on a sharp curve just before 6 p.m.
Her car veered off the road and overturned, leaving her trapped inside. Despite efforts to rescue her, Torsiello succumbed to her injuries at the scene, as confirmed by detectives.
Throughout the night, numerous NYPD colleagues were observed alongside state police investigators at the crash site, with the Orange County medical examiner also in attendance.
As of Saturday evening, the exact cause of the accident remains unclear, pending further investigation.
