Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A man from Montgomery County has been taken into custody and charged with fentanyl murder following allegations that he sold fentanyl that resulted in a tragic fatal overdose.

The incident unfolded on March 16 when the Montgomery County Narcotics Enforcement Team responded to a death investigation on Barberry Street in Willis. A 21-year-old male was discovered deceased, with the cause of death later confirmed to be a fentanyl overdose.

After a thorough investigation, authorities identified Keian Alexander Cormier as the individual responsible for supplying the fentanyl that led to the fatal overdose. On May 21, Cormier was arrested and formally charged with murder in connection to the tragic incident.

For the past few years, MOCONET and Houston HIDTA have been actively working to combat fentanyl trafficking in Montgomery County. The implementation of House Bill 6, which came into effect on September 1, 2023, has played a significant role in enabling individuals to face charges of “Fentanyl Murder” if their distribution activities result in death. This legislation paved the way for the murder charge against Cormier.
