Sitapur, 25th May: A tragic incident unfolded in Sitapur late on Thursday, 23rd May, as a man was arrested for the brutal murder of his wife. The accused, identified as 42-year-old Garibe Lal, allegedly killed his wife Kiran Devi, also known as Tina, with an axe. The heinous crime took place in their residence in front of their minor children, sending shockwaves through the community.
According to a report by The Times of India, Garibe Lal stormed into the room wielding an axe and launched a fatal attack on his wife, Kiran. The scene was horrifying as their children witnessed their mother’s desperate cries for help while lying wounded on the ground. The traumatized children ran outside to seek assistance from the villagers, who rushed to Kiran’s aid.
Despite the efforts of the villagers to save her, Kiran’s injuries were severe. She was initially taken to the Mehmoodabad Community Health Centre before being transferred to the district hospital. Tragically, Kiran succumbed to her wounds shortly after arriving at the hospital. In a shocking turn of events, Garibe Lal surrendered himself at the Mehmoodabad police station following his wife’s death the next morning.
An FIR has been lodged against Garibe Lal based on a complaint filed by Kiran’s father, Maniram, who resides in Godaha village under the Ramapur Mathura police station. As the investigation unfolds, Mehmoodabad SHO Anil Kumar Singh revealed that tensions between Kiran and Garibe Lal, fueled by suspicions of extramarital affairs, may have played a role in the tragic outcome.
