Overview

A 19-year-old male from Argentine Township is currently under investigation for felony fleeing and eluding police, malicious destruction of property, and possession of dangerous drugs. The incident unfolded when he attempted to evade Linden police and ultimately crashed his vehicle in a residential backyard on Lobdell Road on the evening of Monday, May 20.

Police Pursuit

According to Linden Police Chief Scott Sutter, the events transpired around 9:30 p.m. when an officer spotted a 2007 orange Chevrolet Aveo disregarding a traffic signal at Broad and Bridge Streets. The officer then initiated a traffic stop, but the driver accelerated in an attempt to flee, leading to a high-speed chase towards Argentine Township.

Crash and Escape

During the pursuit, the Aveo entered Coachlight Pines subdivision and eventually crashed through a gate, causing significant damage. The driver, later identified as the 19-year-old male, and a female companion fled on foot after crashing the vehicle in a residential backyard on Lobdell Road. Subsequent investigation revealed potential illegal drugs in the Aveo.

Legal Action

The Linden Police Department is preparing to submit a warrant request to the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office, seeking charges against the individual for felony fleeing and eluding, malicious destruction of property, and possession of dangerous drugs.
