Lincoln, Nebraska – Lincoln Police have apprehended a local man following a traffic stop that uncovered a stolen vehicle.
During the early hours of Friday morning, an officer initiated a stop near the intersection of 13th and K streets after observing a driver make an improper turn.
The driver, identified as Dewon Harper, 35, displayed signs of impairment, prompting further investigation by the authorities. It was soon discovered that the vehicle Harper was operating had been reported stolen from Memphis in December 2023.
Harper was subsequently taken into custody on suspicion of theft by receiving stolen property valued between $500 and $1,500. Additionally, he was cited and released on suspicion of driving under the influence, making an improper turn, lacking valid registration, and driving without an operator’s license.
