Alec Flores : Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Murder Suspect

Authorities in Washoe County, Nevada have made a significant breakthrough in the investigation into the murder of 54-year-old Jeffrey McCunn, who was found deceased at his residence in Incline Village on June 23, 2023. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Alec Flores, was apprehended on May 23, 2024, following a diligent investigation by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office detectives.

After Flores was pinpointed as a suspect in the case, an arrest warrant request was swiftly issued by the Incline Village-Crystal Bay Township Justice Court on May 14, 2024. The Regional Crime Suppression Unit, in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Service, successfully located and arrested Flores in Reno without any untoward incident.

Subsequently, Flores was transferred to the Washoe County Detention Facility, where he is currently being held on the charge of open murder with a deadly weapon enhancement.

On the fateful day of June 23, 2023, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a distress call at a property on the 800 block of Hazel Court in Incline Village. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of Jeffrey McCunn inside the residence, prompting the initiation of a comprehensive investigation by the Sheriff’s Office detectives.

The Washoe County Sheriff, Sheriff Balaam, commended the unwavering dedication exhibited by the law enforcement personnel in pursuing justice for the victim. He also expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of the Regional Crime Suppression Unit and the U.S. Marshals Service in swiftly apprehending the suspect, offering a glimmer of closure to the bereaved family and friends of the deceased.
