WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. (WJRT) – Authorities are currently investigating the puzzling circumstances surrounding the death of a woman from Flint along I-94 in the Detroit area in the early hours of Friday morning.
Michigan State Police reported that the Van Buren Township Police Department in western Wayne County came across the 59-year-old woman’s Honda Civic parked along the westbound I-94 exit ramp to Haggerty Road at approximately 2:35 a.m.
Upon further inspection, law enforcement officers discovered the lifeless body of the woman inside her vehicle. The cause of her death remains unknown at this time.
Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw stated that there were no apparent signs of foul play or drug use. Additionally, investigators did not find any evidence of recent damage consistent with a recent crash.
An autopsy is set to be conducted to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the woman’s untimely demise.
“Once the autopsy has been completed, we will be in a better position to determine our next course of action in this investigation,” Shaw remarked.
