A man was discovered deceased late Thursday evening inside a burning minivan in Manchester Township, as reported by Northern York County Regional Police.

The individual has been identified as 55-year-old Thomas Rooney, according to police authorities.

Upon arriving at the scene located in the 2400 block of Pin Oak Drive, officers encountered a white 1994 GMC Safari minivan completely engulfed in flames, as stated in a news release. The York Area United Fire and Rescue team swiftly extinguished the fire.

Witnesses at the scene informed law enforcement that Rooney had been intermittently entering and exiting the minivan since 10 p.m., constantly revving the engine, according to the release. Police began their investigation into the fire at 11:50 p.m.

No other individuals were harmed, and no additional property was impacted, as per the police statement.

A fire investigator from Northern York County Regional Police collaborated with the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal in conducting an investigation into the incident, with the cause of the fire remaining undetermined at this time.
