SEDGWICK COUNTY— Authorities in Wichita, Kansas are currently investigating a fatal shooting incident that took place at a massage parlor on SE Boulevard Plaza.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement officers. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a male victim identified as Robexy Figueroa from Wyoming. Figueroa had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was tragically pronounced dead by Sedgwick County EMS.
An initial examination of the situation suggests that Figueroa had entered the massage parlor armed with a firearm, with the intent to carry out a robbery. However, a confrontation ensued between Figueroa and a 71-year-old male individual, resulting in an exchange of gunfire between the two parties.
The 71-year-old man sustained several gunshot injuries during the altercation and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. As of Thursday afternoon, the man’s condition was reported to be stable, and he is expected to make a full recovery, according to Officer Juan Rebolledo.
