Lexington County, South Carolina (WOLO) — The Lexington County Coroner, Margaret Fisher, has officially identified the victim of a fatal shooting incident that took place outside his residence on Tuesday.
Authorities have confirmed that the deceased individual is John Darrick Rumph, a 53-year-old resident of Gaston. Fisher stated that Rumph succumbed to his injuries at his Glenn Road home before he could be transported to the hospital. The Coroner determined that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the upper body.
The investigation into this tragic event is ongoing, with both the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and the Coroner’s Office working diligently to uncover the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
