SANDY, Utah — Tragedy struck the community as news emerged that Centerville native Andrew Cameron was one of the two individuals who lost their lives in a devastating avalanche in Utah.

Originally hailing from Centerville, Cameron had been residing in Cottonwood Heights, Utah after graduating from Centerville High School in 2020.

Known for his passion for the outdoors, Cameron was an Eagle Scout who enjoyed activities such as backpacking and skiing, according to his obituary.

Tragically, Cameron’s life was cut short when he was caught in an avalanche at Lone Peak in the Wasatch Range on May 9, leaving behind a grieving community and devastated loved ones.

At just 22 years old, Cameron’s untimely passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him.

In honour of Cameron’s memory, his family has requested that contributions be made to Andrew’s Fund.
