Aurora Man Arrested for Kidnapping Attempt of Teenage Girl
A 19-year-old man from Aurora is facing felony charges after a kidnapping attempt on a 17-year-old girl, according to local police reports released on Thursday.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at around 2:15 p.m. when the victim was walking on the sidewalk in the 700 block of Orchard Avenue. The man allegedly grabbed her from behind, covered her mouth, and forcibly dragged her away from the scene.
The victim managed to escape from the perpetrator, later identified as Daniel Raines, who fled the area. However, police were able to apprehend Raines just over an hour after the incident took place.
Raines has been charged with felony kidnapping, attempted kidnapping, and aggravated battery. Additionally, he faces a misdemeanor battery charge in connection with the incident. He is currently being held at Kane County Jail pending a pre-trial hearing.
