TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – A Kilgore resident, Rodney Dewayne Fagans, aged 39, has been handed a federal prison sentence for his involvement in drug trafficking activities in East Texas. Fagans pleaded guilty to the possession with intent to sell methamphetamine, leading to a punishment of over 15 years behind bars as decreed by U.S. District Judge Jeremy D. Kernodle.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Fagans and his accomplices confessed to selling substantial quantities of methamphetamine on multiple occasions within Gregg County. Fagans was pinpointed as the main supplier in three separate illicit drug transactions, totaling a staggering 598.72 grams of methamphetamine. In total, fifteen other individuals implicated in the drug distribution ring have also admitted guilt and received federal prison sentences.

The investigation into this case was led by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in collaboration with the Gregg County Sheriff’s Office and the Longview Police Department. The successful prosecution of the case was overseen by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lucas Machicek.
