Shortly after the distress call, Claycomb fled the scene in a grey 2500 Ram truck. Deputies were able to track the vehicle using the tag number provided by Claycomb’s wife, who reported that he had driven past the residence at a high speed.

The deputy initiated a traffic stop to conduct a welfare check on Claycomb, noting that the truck’s right rear taillight was malfunctioning. Upon returning to the residence, deputies located Claycomb inside with his wife and children. Despite repeated requests to come outside and speak with law enforcement, Claycomb refused to comply.
