Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A tragic incident unfolded earlier this month in Moore County, North Carolina, resulting in a deadly shooting that has captured the interest of both the U.S. Army and the FBI.

On May 3, deputies from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding trespassing at a residence on Dowd Road in Carthage. The 911 caller reported that an individual was taking photos on the property and had become aggressive towards a resident outside the home.

The man believed to have fired the fatal shots is a member of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, as confirmed by spokesperson Jacqueline Hill. However, details about the soldier’s rank and position within the command have not been disclosed at this time.

The victim of the shooting has been identified as 35-year-old Ramzan Daraev from Chicago, Illinois. Daraev was found shot multiple times and located nearly 250 yards from the roadway, along a powerline on the residential property.

Through family members and an international identification found in his vehicle, Daraev’s identity was confirmed. At the time of his death, he was reportedly working as a subcontractor for Utilities One, a New Jersey-based company. Authorities are still in the process of verifying his official employment status.

It was noted that Daraev did not possess any utility equipment, clothing, or identification at the time of the incident. The matter has been reported to the U.S. Department of Labor and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for further investigation.

The FBI has also joined the investigation, providing assistance in the form of a translator for interviews with other reported employees of Utilities One. Despite their involvement, the primary agency leading the investigation remains the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.

As the investigation continues, authorities are working diligently to collect all relevant information, including autopsy reports and findings from the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office. Once all facts have been gathered and reviewed, the case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office for a decision on potential criminal charges.

The Moore County Sheriff’s Office has reassured the public of their commitment to conducting a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident.
