A 73-year-old man has been charged with two counts of DUI manslaughter in connection with a tragic motorcycle crash that occurred in November 2022 in Jacksonville, Florida.

The incident took place at the intersection of Southside and Beach boulevards just after 9 p.m. on Nov. 4, 2022. According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, a Cadillac CTS and a Honda motorcycle were stopped at a red light when a Nissan Sentra crashed into the motorcycle from behind, crushing it against the CTS.

Tragically, both riders on the motorcycle, a 49-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman, lost their lives as a result of the crash. The man, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and the woman, who was not wearing a helmet, both succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

The driver of the Nissan Sentra, identified as Thomas Dukes, has been charged with two counts of DUI manslaughter in connection with the crash. Fortunately, neither Dukes nor the 41-year-old driver of the Cadillac CTS suffered any injuries in the incident, as both were wearing seat belts.
