Accident – Death – Obituary News : Police in Embu County are currently investigating the murder of a 35-year-old woman, identified as Lilian Nkatha Marete, whose body was discovered in a house in Karurumo, Runyenjes. The gruesome discovery was made after locals reported a foul smell emanating from the house, where the body had been lying for three days.

According to reports, Marete was last seen in the area on May 19 before her body was found in a decomposed state. The caretaker of the house, where the body was discovered, is currently missing, and authorities have launched a manhunt to locate him.

Upon entering the house, police found Marete’s body with visible injuries on her head, neck, and left arm. There were also signs of sexual assault, with suspicions of rape and sodomy. A pool of blood was found on the floor of the house, further indicating a violent crime.

The body has been transferred to the mortuary for further examination and autopsy as investigations into the murder continue. The local community is in shock over the brutal nature of the crime, and residents are urging the authorities to expedite the investigation and bring the perpetrator to justice.

In a separate incident in Kilifi County, police are also probing the murder of a man, identified as Charles Changawa, whose body was found near his house in Ngerenya. The victim had suffered a deep cut to the back of his head, leading authorities to suspect foul play.

The motive behind Changawa’s murder remains unclear, as investigators work to piece together the events leading up to his death. His body has been taken to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination, with police actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend the perpetrator responsible for the heinous crime.

These tragic incidents serve as a stark reminder of the need for heightened security measures and vigilance in communities to prevent such senseless acts of violence. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to either case to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigations.
