Additional 5 Passengers from SQ321 Flight Return to Singapore

Five more passengers from the Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight SQ321 have safely returned to Singapore on Wednesday (22 May). The flight, which was en-route from London to Singapore, encountered severe turbulence, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries.

Unfortunately, one passenger lost their life during the turbulent journey. The Boeing 777-300ER aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport to address the situation.

SIA has been actively engaged in providing support and updates to the family members and loved ones of the affected individuals. The airline has been in constant communication with them to ensure their well-being and provide necessary assistance.

One Crew Member to Return to Singapore on 23 May

SIA released an update on Wednesday evening confirming that five more passengers have returned to Singapore, while 74 passengers and six crew members remain in Bangkok. This includes individuals who are receiving medical attention and their accompanying family members.

Additionally, arrangements have been made for one crew member to return to Singapore on 23 May, ensuring that all personnel involved in the incident receive the care and support they require.

SIA Extends Support to Families and Loved Ones

Mr. Peter Seah, SIA’s chairman, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased passenger, identified as Mr. Geoffrey Kitchen, a 73-year-old British man. According to Mr. Kittipong Kittikachorn, the general manager of Suvarnabhumi Airport, Mr. Kitchen likely passed away due to cardiac arrest, exacerbated by existing heart conditions.

“We are dedicated to providing unwavering support to all passengers and crew members affected by the incident,” Mr. Seah reassured.

As the affected individuals continue to recover and cope with the aftermath of the turbulence, SIA remains committed to offering assistance and guidance during this challenging period.
