The tight-knit community of Bartow County, Georgia, was left reeling after a devastating crash on Interstate 75 claimed the lives of four individuals and left six others injured. The Mason family, consisting of parents Dakarai and Erin Mason, along with their three children Brandon, Titus, and Noah, were involved in the tragic accident while returning home from a church event.

Tragically, both parents and their eldest son, 14-year-old Brandon Crawford, lost their lives in the collision. The two younger children, 6-year-old Titus and 5-year-old Noah, sustained injuries in the crash. While Titus remains in critical condition in the ICU, Noah is expected to recover fully, as reported on a GoFundMe page set up to support the grieving family.

The Bartow County Coroner confirmed that a fourth victim, 21-year-old Aimee Odom, also perished in the crash. A student at Kennesaw State University, Odom was travelling in a separate vehicle at the time of the incident.

According to Georgia State Patrol reports, the Mason family’s Kia van veered off course while travelling northbound on I-75, crossing the grassy median and entering the southbound lanes. The van collided with a Chevy Tahoe and a Toyota 4Runner, triggering a chain reaction involving two additional vehicles.

The cause of the van losing control and crossing the median remains unclear, leaving investigators to piece together the sequence of events. In addition to the tragic fatalities, six other individuals were injured in the multi-vehicle collision.

The news of this devastating crash has sent shockwaves through the close-knit community, leaving residents stunned and heartbroken. Jessica Lopez, who witnessed the aftermath of the incident while working at a nearby gas station, expressed the profound impact of the tragedy.

Erin Mason, the mother who tragically lost her life in the crash, was a valued employee of the Holly Springs Police Department. The department released a statement mourning her loss and requesting privacy for the grieving family during this difficult time.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Erin Mason’s uncle emphasised the need for prayers and privacy as they come to terms with the devastating loss. Bartow County Schools also reached out to the community, requesting prayers for Brandon and his family as they navigate this challenging period.

Brandon, a freshman at Cass High Magnet School, was described as a vibrant and beloved member of the school community. Known for his infectious personality and larger-than-life smile, Brandon was a standout student-athlete who excelled both on the football field and in the classroom.

The GoFundMe page set up for the Mason family aims to raise funds for multiple funerals and cover medical expenses for the younger sons. The outpouring of support and prayers from the community is seen as a source of strength during this dark time, with the family expressing gratitude for the support and solidarity shown.
